HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12061988 - FC.2 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on December 6, 1988 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Fanden, McPeak, Torlakson, Schroder NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Fire Districts Special District Augmentation Fund Allocation On November 29, 1988 the Board approved a recommendation to continue the current Special District Augmentation Fund (SDAF) allocation policy which allows for an allocation for capital expenditures of up to 12 . 5% of the fire districts ' share of the Fund. Subsequently, Board members questioned whether or not approval of the current policy would jeopardize SDAF funding for special needs such as staffing new fire stations. The Board therefore requested the Clerk to list the matter on this date for reconsideration. Board members commented on the need to assure funding for special needs such as personnel to staff the new stations. Chief Ed Lucas, Moraga Fire Protection District, advised that the current policy provides the flexibility to either allocate the entire 12 . 5% for capital improvements or divert a portion of the amount for other special purposes as determined by the Board of Supervisors. Supervisor Sunne McPeak recommended that the wording previously approved be amended to "continue the current Special District Augmentation Fund allocation policy to designate up to 12. 5% of the fire districts ' share of the funds for capital expenditures and special needs". i IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the recommendation of Supervisor McPeak is APPROVED. horeby certify that this Is a true and correct copy of an action iaken and enlzred om Ursa Minutes of the Boa,d of Supervisors on the date shoum.
