MICHAEL WALFORD, CHIEF ENGINEER DATE: DECEMBER 20, 1988 SUBJECT: Approve the Alteration of Purchase Order #P21194 to Increase Amount to $26, 628.72 for Utility Relocations for the Upper Pine Creek, Project No. 7520-6B8689, Concord Area. Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: AUTHORIZE the alteration of Purchase Order #P21194 issued to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, approved by the Board on August 18, 1986, to increase the payment limit to an amount not to exceed $26, 628.72 . II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Purchase Order #P21194 was issued in the amount of $16, 000. 00. The recommended alteration will increase the payment limit by $10, 628.72 . III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: The purchase order alteration provides for costs in excess of the original estimate for the relocation and bracing of power poles at Lane Drive, San Miguel Road. Crossing of Pine Creek, Citrus Avenue and Valley Vista Road which conflict with the Corps of Engineers' Upper Pine Creek Project. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The Flood Control District committed to reimbursing the Pacific Gas and Electric Company for the actual costs of design and construction of the relocation work. The District must honor this commitment to assure continued good relations with PG&E.
