HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12131988 - S.1 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Supporting ) a Path on the Benicia Bridge ) RESOLUTION NO. 88/ 750 The Benicia Bridge is a critical link for the completion of two regional trails;, the Bay Area Ridge Trail and the Bay Trail and a path on the Benicia Bridge will provide connections with trails throughout Contra Costa including East County, Central County, and West County. Since Contra Costa County is committed to promoting walking and bicycling as an alternative to automobile use, the county is funding construction of bicycle and pedestrian paths with Measure C and Transportation Development Act monies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors that construction of a bicycle and pedestrian path on the Benicia Bridge when it is widened, be endorsed and that the transportation planning staff and public works staff will consult with the, City of Martinez, Solano County and Caltrans to determine the technical and financial aspects of building an approach to and a path on the Benicia Bridge.
