SPECIFIC REQUEST S) OR RECOMEMDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOM MENDATI ONS
1. Accept the environmental documentation prepared -for this project
as being complete and adequate.
2. Deny the appeal filed by DeBolt Civil Engineering/Kimmel in' the
Planning Commission' s denial of 2717-RZ, D.P.#3035-87
tentative map for Subdivision #.6844.
3. Grant the appeal filed by DeBolt Civil Engineering/Kimmel -in
the matter of the Commission's denial of 2717-RZ, D.P.#3035 87,
and Subdivision #6488.
4. Alternatively, these applications could be referred-back-`to-'the --
Planning Commission for further hearings to further resolve the
lack of a positive vote which resulted in the denial of these
applications.

This being they time heretofore noticed for hearing on the above
1patter, Karl Wandry, Community Development Department, presented the
staff recommendation to refer this matter back to the Planning
Commission because the applicant had submitted a modified map that the
Planning Commission did not have before it to consider.
Supervisor Torlakson moved to refer the matter back to the Planning
Commission.
The following people appeared to speak:
James Ba7h, 131 Hasselmire Court, Lafayette, commented on issues
including the decision of the Planning Commission, the intent of the
Planning Comm' ssion, and the need for a new plan or proposal for the
project;
Nancy Gates, 1993 Reliz Valley Road, Lafayette, secretary of the
Brookwood Homeowners Association, commented on a letter she had sent
requesting that the slope density ordinance be applied.

Therefore, ITIS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that recommendation 4 is
` APPROVED; and the letter from Brookwood Homeowners Association -__
regarding 'slope density ordinance is REFERRED to the Contra Costa
Oounty Planning Commission.
