MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: November 8, 1988 SUBJECT: Agreement for Bear Creek Road/Camino Pablo Intersection Traffic Signal, Orinda Area Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification I. RECOMMENDATION APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chairman to execute a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement between the City of Orinda, East Bay Municipal Utility District, and the County for the constIuction and operation of a traffic signal at the Bear Creek Road/Camino Diablo-San Pablo Dam Road intersection. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT The County' s estimate cost share for construction is $50, 000 which is 25% of the total project cost. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION BACKGROUND On November 1, 1988 the Board approved the funding concept for this project. The agreement formally sets forth the project cost sharing and the responsibilities of the agenciles for the implementation and operation of the new traffic signal. IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION Without the agreement the project cannot proceed.
