C. Fanden advised the Board of a problem she and other voters in Contra Costa County are experiencing as a result of the late delivery by the Postal Service of sample ballots and campaign material. She advised of a letter she has received from Robert J. Delevati, Assistant County Registrar, advising of the work of his staff in assuring that the sample ballots are mailed in accordance with statutory requirements well in advance of the election date. Supervisor Fanden recommended that an investigation be requested on the practice of the Post Office on this matter. IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that Mr. Delevati is REQUESTED to prepare letters to be sent to the County's Congressional Delegation, the Postmaster General, the Postal Commission, and the Postmasters in the County requesting an investigation of the practice of the Postal Service in incurring delays in delivering ballots and election/campaign material in a timely manner. 1 hereby certify that this Is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
