(Increasing Automation Filing Fees )
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as follows
SECTION I : Summary: This ordinance increases the Superior and
Municipal Court filing fees for the costs of automating the
courts ' record keeping systems or the conversion of the courts '
document system to micrographics, from $1. 00 , to $4. 00 and $8. 00
respectively.
SECTION II . Superior and Municipal Court Automation Fees. The
fees authorized by Government Code sections 26863 and 68090 . 7 for
filings in a civil action or proceeding as specified in Government
Code section 68090 . 7 , to pay the costs of automating the county
clerk' s and municipal courts ' record keeping systems and the cost
of converting the courts ' document systems to micrographics shall
be:
(a ) For the Superior Court: $4 . 00.
(b) For each of the Municipal Courts in Contra Costa County:
$8. 00 .
The foregoing fees shall be levied and collected not as a
part of, and in addition to, the "total" filing fees prescribed by
Government Code sections 26820. 4 and 72055 .
SECTION III . Findings. The Board of Supervisors finds that the
fees expressed in this ordinance do not exceed the amount
reasonably necessary to recover the cost of providing automation
of the county clerk' s and municipal courts ' record keeping systems
and the cost of converting the courts ' document systems to
micrographics .
SECTION IV: Effective Date. This ordinance becomes effective 30
days of-ter passage , and within 15 days of passage shall be
published once with the names of the supervisors voting for or
against it in the Martinez Gazette a newspaper published
in this County.
