The Advisory Housing Commission, at its Regular Meeting on October 19, 1987,
voted to recommend that the Executive Director be authorized to provide $7,500 in
Housing Authority funds to the Pittsburg Police Department for continuation of the
Special Drug Enforcement Program for fiscal year 1987-88.
IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to respond positively to the request to provide $7,500 in Housing
Authority funds to the Pittsburg Police Department for continuation of the Special
Drug Enforcement Program could result in many of the gains made in the E1 Pueblo area
being lost and an escalation of drug-related activities. Additionally, by a negative
response, the Board of Commissioners would be acting in a manner contrary to its
adopted position of providing decent, safe and sanitary housing for low-income
families.
