SUBJ• JUSTIFICATION FOR REQUEST TO CHANGE STAFFING PATTERN IN ORGANIZATION #5847
During the.past year a random survey of the ethnic origin of referrals and
the resulting need for Spanish speaking capability in our Program clearly
demonstrated a need for us to have a Spanish speaking Public Health.Aide.
As such, I'am requesting that we allocate one-half time of the unfilled
EPSDT Public Health Aide position in Organization #5847 to be filled by
a Spanish speaking aide.
In addition to the above, I am requesting that residual funds for this
position be allocated to hire a Permanent Intermittant Health Educator.
This additional staff is needed to enable us to: l•
1. Staff the Childhood Injury Prevention Coalition /
2. Carry out extensive outreach to our 200% population
3. Augment the staffing to the MCAH board and
4. Assist with the expansion of our hospital based.
"Healthy Baby" project.
As delineated in our 1986-1987 program budget, 1987-1988 funding would- remain
the same--25/75 Federal match.
Thank you.
