HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10061987 - S.6 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on October 6, 1987 , by the following voter AYES: Supervisors Powers, Fanden, Schroder, Torlakson, McPeak NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Concord Naval Weapons Station Demonstrations Mr. Don Elam, 168 Norman Avenue, Clyde, appeared before the Board on behalf of himself and other residents of Clyde and requested the Board' s assistance in protecting the safety and property rights of Clyde residents during the continuing demonstrations at the Concord Naval Weapons Station. Mr. Elam commented on County funds being expended on these demonstrations, and noted that he had been informed that those protestors who had been arrested previously had not been prosecuted. After discussion by Board members, IT IS ORDERED that the matter is REFERRED to County Counsel to review with the Sheriff and District Attorney what actions can be taken by the County to protect the safety and property rights of the residents of Clyde. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the District Attorney is REQUESTED to report on the question of prosecution of protesters arrested at the demonstrations. cc: County Counsel Sheriff-Coroner District Attorney County Administrator I hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
