HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01271987 - S.6 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY Adopted this Order on January 27, 1987 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Fanden, Schroder, Torlakson, McPeak NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Eric Coy Supervisor Nancy Fanden advised the Board of the tragic death of nine year old Eric Coy, slain in the vicinity of Martinez Junior High School on Saturday, January 24, 1987. Since this tragedy occurred following the posting of the Board' s agenda, Supervisor Fanden requested that the Chair be authorized to send a letter expressing the Board' s sympathy to Eric' s family. Supervisor Fanden further commented on the work of the Field Operations Bureau of the Sheriff-Coroner' s Department, and particularly the actions of Deputy Judy Bloodworth in going into the schools and speaking to the children in an effort to alleviate their fears and help them to deal with the death of their classmate. Supervisor Fanden requested that a certificate be issued commending Deputy Bloodworth and the staff of the Field Operations Bureau.
