"Tubby" Snodgrass Upon His) Completion of Forty Years of ) RESOLUTION NO. 87/49 Service to the City of Richmond ) and Contra Costa County ) M. M. "Tubby" Snodgrass is recognized today for hi.s years of dedication and leadership to the citizens and industries of our County. Born in Blackfoot, Idaho, his family moved to Richmond in 1924 . He attended Richmond High School and Armstrong Business College. While attending high school, he worked for the Richmond-San Rafael Company as a fry cook and later as a toll collector while attending Armstrong Business College. Thereafter, he was Commissary Manager and eventually moved to the position of Port Superintendent where he remained till the opening of the San Rafael Bridge. Four years before, "Tubby" had set up a public relations business. From the start, most of his clients were industries and aspiring City Council candidates. Friends soon called him "Tubby" but most people called him "Mr. Industry" . Tubby was the first and only Executive Director of the Council of Richmond Industries. He has participated in numerous community activities including membership in the Stege Sanitary District Board, Richmond Elementary School Board and County Grand Jury. He was the first male President of the Camp Fire Girls Council, and director of United Way Campaign in Contra Costa County for 27 years. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors that M. M. "Tubby" Snodgrass be commended for his years of dedication to the quality of life to the citizens and industries of Richmond and Contra Costa County. His integrity and leadership are fine examples of the best in public service. PASSED AND ADOPTED on January 27, 1987, by a unanimous vote of the Board member present. By Clerk of the Board v� v IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Recognizing ) Laurel Knapp Upon Her ) Completion of Thirty-Four Years ) RESOLUTION NO. 87/48 of Service to Contra Costa County. ) Laurel Knapp is recognized today for her thirty-four years of competent and dedicated service to the citizens of our County. In 1952 she began her employment in the Richmond Health Center. There followed a series of assignments commensurate with her skills and personality, each a more demanding and satisfactory experience for her as well as beneficial for our citizens. Her assignments led her from the Human Resources Administration to the Social Services Department and finally, Laurel was promoted to Office Manager of the County Assessor' s Office. Her dedication and compassion are imprinted in the hearts of her colleagues and her standard of excellence in service is a lasting achievement we should all emulate. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors that Laurel Knapp be commended for her service to her County and her dedication to its citizens.
