HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 03061990 - 90/141el, 1- 045 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order -on March 6, 1990 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers , Schroder, Torlakson, Fanden NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor McPeak ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: In the Matter of Modifying ) RESOLUTION NO. 90/141 the Extended Range Class of ) Associate Civil Engineer WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors has enacted Resolution No. 89/194 creating the extended range class of Associate Civil Engineer; and WHEREAS the County Administrator has reviewed and approved the recommendation of the Public Works Director for greater flexibility in compensating engineers on special assignments; BE IT BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that effective March 1, 1990, the following modifications are made to the extended range class of Associate Civil Engineer. SECTION 4 . Merit Salary Review is revised to read: Annually, on the employees anniversary date, the appointing authority may, based upon an evaluation of work performance, award two 2-1/2% steps (total 5%) for satisfactory performance and may also award either one additional step of 2-1/2% (total 7-1/2%) or two additional 2-1/2% steps (total 10%) for outstanding performance. If an employee has received an outstanding pay step of 2-1/2% on his/her anniversary date, the appointing authority may, based upon an evaluation of work performance, award an additional 2-1/2% outstanding pay step effective six months from the anniversary date. If an employee did not receive an outstanding pay step on his/her anniversary date, the appointing authority may, based upon an evaluation of work performance, award up to two 2-1/2% outstanding pay steps (total 5%) effective six months from the anniversary date. All outstanding performance steps in effect at an anniversary date are subject to evaluation by the appointing authority and must be affirmatively recommended by the appointing authority to continue or be increased. In instances where one 2-1/2% outstanding pay step is in effect when the employee's annual anniversary review is due, the appointing authority may utilize the outstanding pay step(s) then in effect as the base from which any additional satisfactory or outstanding increments are calculated. No salary step beyond step 11 may be awarded for satisfactory performance. Steps 12 and 13 are reserved exclusively for above average or outstanding performance pay. No provision of this section shall allow salary step placement beyond the uppermost step of the salary/level to which the class is allocated.
