THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on July 31 , 1990 by the following vote:

Volunteer Fire Suppression Personnel )
in County Volunteer Fire Districts.
WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 88/75 effective January 1,
1988 which established continuing policy for review and adjustment of pay rates
for all miscellaneous and volunteer employees in the volunteer fire districts
of East Diablo, Bethel Island, Byron, Oakley, Crockett and Tassajara; and
WHEREAS a review of the salary rates of all miscellaneous and volunteer
employees has been completed by the Office of County Administrator concurrence.-'•
with adoption of the Fiscal Year 1990/1991 Budget; NOW THEREFORE:
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as governing board
of the County of Contra Costa and all districts of which it is the ex-officio
governing board RESOLVES THAT: Effective July 1, 1990 the following position
titles and accompanying rates of pay are in effect for all non-full time
employees in the separate volunteer fire districts as indicated:
1. BETHEL ISLAND
Volunteers Per Hour
Captain 10.00
Engineer 9.00
Firefighter 8.00
Probationary Firefighter 7.00
Volunteer Fire Captains shall also be eligible for monthly compensation in the
amount of $80.00 for performance of on-going operational , training or
maintenance assignments. Designation of these assignments and compensation
therefore shall be at the discretion of the Fire Chief.
Miscellaneous Per Hour
Janitor 8.40
Mechanic 10.00
The District's Secretary position, which is assigned to a monthly pay schedule
equivalent to that in effect for the County merit system class of
Clerk-Experienced level , shall have the salary schedule increase effective
10/1/90 and 1/1/91 by the same amounts as that received by Clerk-Experienced
level .

Effective July 1, 1990, the District's Secretary position is
converted from a $10.00/hour pay schedule to a monthly pay schedule
equivalent to that in effect for the County merit system class of
Clerk-Senior Level . This schedule contains the current steps and
rates of pay:

Monthly Rate: $1800 $1890 $1985 $2084 $2188 $2243 $2298
This salary schedule shall be increased effective 10/1/90 and 1/1/91 by the
same amount as that received by Clerk-Senior Level.
Appointment to this position may be on a part-time basis (fractional ) with
compensation pro-rated accordingly.
This employee shall be eligible for benefits, including participation in the
County's group health/dental plans, of the same type and at the same levels as
that available to employees in the merit system class of Clerk-Senior Level .
Designation of which benefits shall be provided is the sole prerogative of the
Fire District.
