THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on July 24, 1990 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisory PowerF , Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson, Fanden
NOES:None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
In the Matter of Increasing
The Per Diem Rate for Official ) Resolution No. 90/
485
Court Reporters.
The Superior Court Executive Officer and the Municipal Court Administrator have
jointly demonstrated that a market inequity exists between the Court systems of
the County and its surrounding jurisdictions in per diem compensation for
official Court Reports; and
Because of this inequity, the Superior Courts and Municipal Courts have
experienced increasing difficulty in competing for the services of available
certified court reporters to provide vacation and sick leave coverage, serve
with assigned and pro tem judges and service the increase in capital cases; and
The Superior and Municipal Courts have requested that the per diem rate for
official Court Reporters be adjusted upward from its current level which is the
1st step hourly equivalent + 5% paid full-time court reports to the 4th step
hourly equivalent +5% paid full time court reporter; NOW THEREFORE
THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVES THAT effective July 1,
1990, the following rates of pay are in effect for the class of Court Reporter-
Per Diem (JPS3)
Full Day: $190.46
Half Day: $100.00
I hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of
an action taken and entered on the minutes of the
Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
