HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10231990 - 90/696IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring AURORA RODRIGUEZ on the Occasion ) RESOLUTION NO. 90/ 696 of Being Named Mexican-American of the Year Aurora Rodriguez has been selected as the 1990 Mexican- American of the Year by the United Council of Spanish Speaking Organizations for her outstanding humanitarian efforts within the Hispanic community of Contra Costa County. Active in many civic organizations, Aurora lends her dedication and determination to the Mexican-American Political Organization, the National Women' s Political Caucus, and the Mexican-American Cultural Association.; Her efforts include helping immigrants adjust to life in the United States, fighting against Hispanic discrimination, and teaching Spanish to students at Glenbrook Middle School. Aurora's contributions are invaluable and her selfless compassion for people in need is endless. For all Aurora has done for the citizens of Contra Costa County, we wish to commend her, thank her, and congratulate her for being named Mexican-American of the Year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors AURORA RODRIGUEZ for her outstanding contributions to the Hispanic community of Contra Costa County.
