In the Matter of Commending
Shell Oil Company
on the Occasion of its Resolution No'. 90/607
75th Anniversary of Operations )
in Martinez, California
WHEREAS Shell. Oil Company is celebrating its 75th year of
operations in Martinez; and
WHEREAS Shell Oil Company's Martinez Manufacturing Complex
is the oldest and continuously operating oil refinery in the
United States providing high quality, competitive petroleum
products to its West Coast customers; and
WHEREAS Shell Oil Company's Martinez Manufacturing Complex
is recognized to be one of the safest refineries in the
United States having won numerous National Safety Council
and National Refiner's Association Awards for its exemplary
safety record; and.
WHEREAS Shell Oil Company has shown continuous ,commitment to
improve its environmental performance and promote the
environmental quality of this area/city; and
WHEREAS Shell Oil Company has provided continuous,
uninterrupted employment to its employees and has been a
strong and viable economic force in the community/county;
and
WHEREAS Shell Oil Company has dedicated itself to
maintaining an open dialogue with its neighbors with regard
to any health, safety and environmental concerns about its
operations..
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of :Supervisors
of Contra Costa County hereby CONGRATULATES Shell oil
Company on its 75th Anniversary.
PASSED and adopted this eighteenth day of September, 1990,
by the unanimous vote of the Board members present.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct
copy of a resolution entered in the minutes of ;the Board of
Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
