The reasons for the write-off recommendation can be. summarized as follows:
A Balance of $50 or Less - $309.00
Delinquent accounts with balances of $50 or less are recommended for write-off
because further collection efforts cannot be justified . Some of these accounts
are out of state and therefore very difficult to follow up on.
B Determined Uncollectible by Collection Agency - $687.28
The County's outside collection agency annually returns accounts to the County as
uncollectible.
C Bankruptcy - $120.00
Tenants that have filed bankruptcy and balance has been determined to be
uncollectible.
D Aircraft Sold - $112.00
Billing name and address for aircraft parked in visitor parking is taken from the
Federal Aviation Administration aircraft registration microfiche. Occasionally
the record shows "SALE REPORTED" . Billing is sent to the address shown, but in
most cases the mail is returned as undeliverable. Since the billing information
from the FAA is all that is available, these accounts are recommended for write-
off.
