In the Matter of Election
of Retirement Board Members RESOLUTION NO 90/106
Numbers 3, 7 and alternate to 7) CALLING AND NOTICING ELECTION
Government Code Section 31520.0
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
1. The term of office of the following member of the Contra Costa County
Employees' Retirement Association Board will be completed as of
June 30, 1990:

The appropriate members of Retirement Association must elect someone to
fill this office for ,a three-year term beginning July 1, 1990 and
provided below.
2. The term of office of the following member of the Contra Costa County
Employees' Retirement Association Board will be completed as June 30,
1990.

7 William Cullen, Safety Member
7 (alternate) William Shinn, Safety Member
The" appropriate members of Retirement Association must elect someone to
fill this office for a three-year term beginning July 1, 1990.
3. Nominations shall be on forms provided by the County Clerk and filed in
his office not later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 1990. He shall
have ballots printed with the nominees' names and with blank spaces for
write-in candidates. He shall have a ballot distributed no later than
April 14, 1990 to each member of the Retirement Association entitled to
vote for such position as of March 31, 1990 with a ballot envelope in
which to enclose "the ballot when voted, imprinted "Retirement Board
Ballot", or similar words, together with a return envelope addressed to
the County Clerk for mailing the ballot envelop to him, and with
instructions that the ballot shall be marked and returned to the County
Clerk before 5 p.m. on election day. (See No. 4 below.)
4. Election day is hereby fixed as Tuesday, May 9, 1990. Any ballot
reaching the County Clerk's Office after 5 p.m. on May 8, 1990 shall be
voided and not counted.
5. Notice of election and nomination procedure shall be given by the Clerk
by publishing a copy of this resolution at least once in the "Martinez
News Gazette" at least ten days before the last day for his receiving
nominations. (See No. 3 above. )
6. On Wednesday, May 9, 1990; the County Clerk shall cause all valid
ballots to be publicly opened, counted, and tallied by an Election
Board of four members of the Retirement association selected by him,
which shall forthwith certify the return to this Board; and this Board
shall declare the winners elected, or arrange for a run-off election in
case of a tie.
7. If the County Clerk receives no valid nominations for either of these
positions, he shall so inform this Board which shall call a new
election therefore; and if the Clerk receives only one nomination for
either of these positions, he shall so notify this Board which shall
declare that person elected to that position.
PASSED BY THE BOARD by unanimous vote of the Board Members
present on February 13, 1990 .
