Congratulating Cub Scout ) RESOLUTION NO. 87/742
Pack 262 of Clayton on )
its 25th Anniversary )
. WHEREAS, the purpose of the Boy Scouts of America is "to
provide for boys and young adults an effective educational program
designed to train in the responsibilities of participating
citizenship, provide growth in moral strength and character, and to
enhance the development of physical, mental, and emotional
fitness. . .serious business, all done in the spirit of fun. "
WHEREAS, the Cub Scout program is part of the Boy Scouts of
America designed for all boys in second to fifth grades and includes
the new Tiger Program for first graders;
WHEREAS, Cub Scout Pack 262 has been Chartered as a Cub
Scout Pack of the Muir District of the Mt. Diablo Council continuously
since December 31, 1962;
WHEREAS, the Pack is sponsored by the Mt. Diablo Elementary
School Parents Association of Clayton, California;
WHEREAS, until the Fall of 1986, this was the only Clayton
Cub Scout Pack;
WHEREAS, many of the boys have gone on through the Boy Scout
program to become Eagle Scouts;
WHEREAS, Cub Scout Pack 262 is celebrating its 25th
Anniversary on December 17 , 1987 ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, does hereby extend its heartiest
congratulations to Cub Scout Pack 262 upon its 25th Anniversary, and
commends present and past leaders and parents of Cub Scout Pack 262
who have unselfishly committed their time and energy to provide this
outstanding educational program for these young boys.
PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board members present on
this 8th day of December, 1987.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct
copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors
of the date aforesaid.
