D Subject : SAFETY GRANT PERSONNEL ,// ' / Assistant Health Services Director-Public Health We have recently received verbal confirmation that the Public Health Division' s Prevention Program will be receiving a grant of $125 , 000 . 00 per year for three years from the California Office of Traffic Safety to perform community intervention, training and education regarding seat-belt usage and child passenger safety. This represents the creation of a new sub-program within Prevention which will require several personnel actions over the next few months to become fully operational . The first two such actions are as follows: 1 . We wish to add an Experienced-Level Clerical Deep Class position, which will be 100% funded under the grant, to perform general clerical duties , i .e. typing, word processing, filing, reception, etc. No additional space costs are associated with this request, and any additional equipment requirements will be funded through the grant. 2. Student Worker Robynn Battle (Employee #43688) will be reassigned to the safety project and given a significantly more responsible role than she currently has . Based on these new responsibilities and her education level , we would like to increase her current level of pay from step #11 ($4. 29 per hour) to Step #17 ($4 . 97 per hour) . Your assistance with these matters is greatly appreciated. Since the safety grant is awarded retroactive to October 1 , 1987 , we would like to implement these transactions as soon as possible.
