Reasons for Recommendations: The Hofmann Company bid was the highest of 4 bids: 1. Hofmann Company - $25, 000. 2 . Granite Construction Company - $15, 250. 3 . Double D. Transportation Company - $8, 001. 4. Coggin Schuette Company - $7, 602 . IV. Background Informal bids were solicited for the removal of approxi- mately 20, 000 cubic yards of soil material from the Teakwood Drive Drainage Detention Basin. Because of the current demand for such material, the District put the project out to bid in order to generate funds for the District while achieving a nearly completed basin at little or no cost. V. - Consequences of Negative Action: Potential loss of revenue to the District if the demand for this type of material declines; the expenditure of $60, 000± by the District to excavate the Basin if no buyer for the material could be found. s - w•
