Subject:Novation Contract #24–933–33 with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc.
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
On December 2, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-933-31, (as amended by Contract
Amendment Agreement #24-933-32) with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. for the period from July 1, 2014
through June 30, 2015 which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2015, for the
provision of subacute skilled nursing care for County’s Seriously and Persistently Mentally Ill (SPMI) and
Neurobehavioral clients.
Approval of Novation Contract #24-933-33 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the
Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2016, including mutual indemnification to hold harmless
both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Behavioral Health Services Division/Mental Health places clients at Contractor's facilities licensed for various
levels of care. If the contract is not approved, a significant number of mentally ill young adults and adults may be
displaced to the community without the mental health services they require.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Not applicable.
