HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12082015 - C.40RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Mt. Diablo Adult Education, including modified mutual indemnification language, for outreach and training of California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKS) clients in an amount not to exceed $40,576.32 for the term of October 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: $40,576.32: 85% Federal and 15% State CalWORKS's Single Allocation funds. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to establish practices, services and classes that would allow for expanded hours of participation of CalWORKs clients in federally approved education and work activities. Our expectations of the contractors are that 80% of referred clients will complete the program and enroll in school or obtain employment. As a public agency, Mt. Diablo Adult Education requires mutual indemnification. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: These valuable services will not be provided to CalWORKs clients.
