HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12082015 - C.38RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract with the City of Oakley, including mutual indemnification, to pay the County an amount not to exceed $3,000,000 to provide police dispatching services for the period May 1, 2016 through April 30, 2021. FISCAL IMPACT: No Net County Cost. $3,000,000 revenue over five years. BACKGROUND: The Office of the Sheriff will provide police dispatching services, limited to law enforcement activity for the City of Oakley. Services will include dispatching, call-taking, sending and receiving voice and data traffic, answering emergency (911) calls and warrant checks to aid the City's Police Department. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Failure to approve this contract will result in the inability of the Sheriff's Office to provide the City of Oakley with adequate 911 Dispatcher Services resulting in a safety concern for the community, reduced revenue for the Office of the Sheriff and the County General Fund.
