APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to apply for and accept
funding from U.S. Bank in an amount not to exceed $10,000 for advising and training services to low-to-moderate
income business owners in Contra Costa County for the period of October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$10,000.00: 100% funding by U.S.Bank Corporation. (No County match)
BACKGROUND:
U.S. Bank funding will be used to provide support services to low-to-moderate income County residents and striving
entrepreneurs to encourage business growth in small business development. The Contra Costa Small Business
Development Center (SBDC) provides localized programming and personalized advising to qualified individuals to
promote economic impact and human capital development. SBDC supports a state-wide initiative to create
sustainable employment with minimal investment in training & preparations including apprenticeship programs and
community colleges, both integral partners in workforce development,
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If not approved, funding will not be available to provide necessary services.
