Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#74–503 with Mental Health Systems, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $3,575,000, to provide
implementation of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Community Services and Supports Program, for the
period from October 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through
December 31, 2017 in an amount not to exceed $950,000.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 35% by Federal Financial Participation and 65% by State Mental Health Services Act (Prop
63).
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing implementation of MHSA Community
Services and Supports Program, including providing community-based services, personal services coordination,
medication support, crisis intervention, and other mental health services to eligible adult clients in Contra Costa
County.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Under #74-503, Contractor will provide MHSA Community Services and Supports Program to residents of Contra
Costa through June 30, 2017.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, there will be fewer services provided to eligible adult clients in Contra Costa
County through the MHSA Community Services and Support Program.
