HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10062015 - C.66RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-584-6 with Diablo Nephrology Medical Group, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $690,000, to provide nephrology services for inmates at the County’s Detention Facilities and for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from November 1, 2015 through October 31, 2018. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise I Funds. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On August 12, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-584-4 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #26-584-5), with Diablo Nephrology Medical Group, Inc., to provide nephrology services, including, but not limited to, consultation, training and/or medical procedures for inmates at the County’s Detention Facilities and for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from November 1, 2012 through October 31, 2015. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Approval of Contract #26-584-6 will allow the contractor to continue providing services through October 31, 2018. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s nephrology services, which may result in a reduction in overall levels of service to the community.
