HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09152015 - C.40RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Grant Award #28-864-1 from Kaiser Permanente, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, to pay the County an amount not to exceed $20,000, for the Public Health Division’s, Healthy and Livable Pittsburg Project, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: Acceptance of this Grant Award will result in an amount not to exceed $20,000 from Kaiser Permanente in support of the Healthy and Livable Pittsburg Project. No County match required. BACKGROUND: Contra Costa Health Services will be the convener of the Healthy and Livable Pittsburg (HLP) steering committee, which will be responsible for developing a strategic plan that addresses current barriers and increase opportunities for healthy eating and active living. The goal of the project is to actively engage at least 30 residents representing different facets of the community in Pittsburg in ongoing capacity building efforts, development & implementation of the community action plan for the Healthy and Livable Pittsburg. Approval of Grant Award #28-864-1 will allow the County to continue to receive funds to support the Healthy and Livable Pittsburg Project, through June 30, 2016. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, the County will not receive funding to support Healthy and Livable Pittsburg Project. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not Applicable
