Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, on behalf of the County to apply for and execute
Standard Agreement #29-208-81 (#15-10146), with the California Department of Public Health, Immunization
Program, to pay the County an amount not to exceed $857,324, to implement the “Provide Immunization Services to
the General Public” Project, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this agreement will result in an amount not to exceed $857,324 in funds from the California Department
of Public Health, for the County’s Immunization Program. No County match required.
BACKGROUND:
The County's Immunization Program will implement the “Provide Immunization Services to the General Public”
Project including making immunizations available to all persons in need of such service in order to prevent the
occurrence and transmission of childhood diseases. The Program monitors the compliance of preschools, elementary
schools, and secondary schools in meeting State-mandated immunization requirements through in-service programs

technical assistance. An adverse reaction monitoring system and outbreak control team are also included in the
Program.
Approval of this Standard Agreement #29-208-81 will allow the County to continue providing services through June
30, 2017, including agreeing to indemnify and hold the State harmless for claims arising out of the County’s
performance under this agreement.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this agreement is not approved, the County would lose funding to support and monitor the compliance of
preschools, elementary schools, and secondary schools in meeting State-mandated immunization requirements
through in-service programs to prevent the occurrence and transmission of childhood diseases. Further, the County
would no longer receive free vaccine from the State.
