HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08182015 - C.49RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Resolution No. 2015/282 to approve and authorize the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with the California Department of Aging to pay County an amount not to exceed $338,233 for Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) services for the period July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: County to receive an amount not to exceed $338,233 from the California Department of Aging, Agreement Number HI-1516-07. (56% State, 44% Federal) (No County match) BACKGROUND: The Employment and Human Services Department, Area Agency on Aging, provides Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program services to Medicare beneficiaries including Medicare beneficiaries by virtue of a disability and those persons imminent of Medicare eligibility as defined by Welfare and Institutions Code (W&I) sections 9541 (a) and (c) (2) and to the public at large for HICAP community education services under W&I Code sections 9541 (c) (1) (4) (5) and (6).
