HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11181986 - 2.8 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on November 18, 1986 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, Torlakson and McPeak NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor Powers ABSTAIN: None TRAFFIC RESOLUTION No. 3158 Supervisorial District III SUBJECT: Staying part of the Existing 14 , 000 Pound Weight Restriction on Camino Tassajara (Road No. 47210 ) , Danville The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors RESOLVES THAT: The Board on October 2 , 1979 , adopted Traffic Resolution No . 2561 which prohibited any vehicle, with or without load, which exceeds a gross weight of 14 , 000 pounds from traveling on that portion of CAMINO TASSAJARA (Rd. #47210 ) , beginning at the intersection of Blackhawk Road and extending easterly and southerly to the Alameda County Line. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Traffic Resolution No . 2561 is stayed, in part, in its operation as follows : (A) The 14 , 000 pound weight restriction is hereby stayed in its operation on that portion of CAMINO TASSAJARA between Blackhawk Drive and the Alameda County Line. But the 14 , 000 pound weight restriction of Resolution No . 2561 is not stayed between the intersection of Blackhawk Drive and Blackhawk Road and remains in full force and effect . Be it FURTHER RESOLVED THAT this Traffic Resolution (and partial stay) shall become effective and remain in force only as long as : ( 1 ) The City Council of Danville has taken action to rescind a similar weight restriction on portions of Sycamore Valley Road and Camino Tassajara that lie within the City and does not adopt and place in force and effect any other such weight restrictions on those roads . ( 2 ) The County Public Works Director has not determined and informed this Board that additional traffic on the subject eastern portion of Camino Tassajara is making it dangerous and/or impassable. Upon making any such determination, the Public Works Director shall forthwith notify the City of Danville, and this Traffic Resolution shall automatically lose all force and effect. ( 3 ) Appropriate City and County load limit signs are removed, covered or relocated. Patrol b THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA t Adopted this Order on November 18, 1986, by the following vote: AYES : Supervisors Fanden, Schroder , Torlakson and McPeak NOES : None ABSENT: Supervisor Powers TRAFFIC RESOLUTION N0. 3156 ABSTAIN: Supervisorial District III SUBJECT: Speed Limits on CAMINO TASSAJARA (Road No. 4721C) The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors RESOLVES THAT: On the basis of an engineering and traffic survey and recommendations thereon by the County Public Works Department' s Traffic Engineering Division and pursuant to the County Ordinance Code Chapter 46-2 (Sec. 46-2.002 ff.) , this Board hereby determines that the present speed limit.(s ) established on the below-described road, a street within the criteria of Vehicle Code Section 22358 is(are) more than reasonable and safe, and hereby determines and declares that the following speed limits is (are) most appropriate , reasonable , and safe prima facie speed limit(s) there: Pursuant to Section 22358 of the California Vehicle Code , no vehicle shall travel in excess 45 miles per hour on that portion of CAMINO TASSAJARA (RD. #4721C) beginning at the Danville city limits near the intersection of Blackhawk Road/Crow Canyon Road and extending easterly and southerly to the Alameda County Line. Patrol s- a-gG THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY Adopted this Order on November 18, 1986 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, Torlakson, McPeak NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor Powers ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Traffic Problems in Camino Tassajara .Area The Board earlier this date adopted Traffic Resolution No. 3158 removing the load limit on Camino Tassajara from Blackhawk Drive to the Alameda County line, establishing a 45 MPH speed limit on Camino Tassajara, and authorizing the Public Works Director to re-establish the load limit if further road deterioration warrants it. As recommended by Supervisor Robert Schroder, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the Public Works Director is AUTHORIZED to contact Alameda County officials to request the removal of the load limit on the Alameda County portion of Camino Tassajara. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Supervisor Schroder and the Public Works Director are REQUESTED to work with the cities of San Ramon and Danville to develop a permanent financing solution for the restoration of Dougherty Road in that area. cc: Supervisor Schroder Public Works Director County Administrator I hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
