Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#74-495 with Berkeley Youth Alternatives, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $194,304, to provide
school-based mental health services to seriously emotionally disturbed children, for the period from July 1, 2015
through June 30, 2016. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2016, in an
amount not to exceed $97,152.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 50% Federal (FFP) and 50% County Realignment,
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing state-mandated school-based mental health
services to seriously emotionally disturbed Mount Diablo Unified School District students, and their families.
Under this Contract #74-594, the Contrsctor will provide school-based mental health services for seriously
emotionally disturbed, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016, which includes a six-month automatic
extension through December 31, 2015.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and

a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social
and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
