HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07212015 - C.78RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #23-226-12 with Boehm and Associates, a partnership, in an amount not to exceed $150,000 to provide consulting and technical assistance on worker’s compensation laws and third party liability recovery for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017. FISCAL IMPACT: The Contractor receives 20% of the amounts collected on accounts identified by the County and referred to Contractor; and 25% of the amount collected on accounts identified and recovered by Contractor. This contract is funded 100% by third-party revenue from collection activities. Approval of Contract #23-226-12 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide consulting and technical assistance on workers’ compensation laws and recovery rights under personal injury law in third-party liability cases, through June 30, 2017. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, the Department will not have access to Contractor’s expertise on workers’ compensation laws and recovery rights under personal injury law in third-party liability cases.
