HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07212015 - C.62RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with the Young Men's Christian Association of the East Bay (YMCA) in collaboration with Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) for the Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency Project in an amount not to exceed $100,000 including mutual indemnification against any claim arising out of the performance of this contract for the period of July 1, 2015 through May 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: $100,000: 100% State 2011 Realignment BACKGROUND: The Young Men's Christian Association of the East Bay (YMCA) in collaboration with Bay Area Community Resources (BACA) will provide the Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency Project in West Contra Costa County. The project will provide mental health counseling services to elementary school students who do not qualify for Medi-Cal and their parents/guardians. Services will include, but not limited to home visiting,emotional support, resource coordination, and education. The contract is in response to the Family and Children's Trust (FACT) Committee's Request for Proposal (RFP) #1144. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Services to CCC children and families who are victims of abuse or neglect or at risk of abuse and neglect would not be delivered as designed by the Contractor. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Contract will support four (4)of the five (5) community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card, 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School", 2) "Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood", 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing", and, 5) "Communities that are Safe, and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families".
