Intern SUBJ: P-300 REQUEST - CANCEL ONE ELIGIBILITY WORKER II POSITION #957 AND ADD ONE 40/40 CLERK-SENIOR LEVEL POSITION. I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: This memo and attached P-300 requests to cancel one 40/40 Eligibility Worker II position #957, and add one 40/40 Clerk-Senior Level. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The monthly cost for an Eligibility Worker II is $1910 or $22,920 a year. The monthly cost for a Clerk-Senior Level is $1887 or $22,644 a year. There will be a cost savings of $276 .00 annualy with the addition of a Clerk-Senior Level and the cancellation of an Eligibility Worker II. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: The Social Service Department has reorganized and relocated the Fiscal Unit. We recently physically consolidated the unit and moved them out of the main building into an adjacent office. The Fiscal Unit has secretarial support from the Assistant Directors secretaries when they shared the same building. Now the Fiscal Unit has no secretarial/clerical support to provide typing, phone coverage, filing, etc. , other than that being temporarily provided by their Account Clerk staff. The Eligibility Worker II position #957, being cancelled is in the DBRU Unit. Kathleen Ginn that was in that Eligibility Worker II position #957, is on long-term leave, and has been reassigned to position #731. It is therefore requested that this matter be placed on the Board of Supervisors ' agenda as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please call me at 671-4150.
