HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07212015 - C.17RECOMMENDATION(S): RECEIVE public report of litigation settlement agreements that became final during the period of June 1, 2015 through June 30, 2015, as recommended by County Counsel. FISCAL IMPACT: Settlement amounts are listed below. BACKGROUND: One agreement to settle pending litigation, as defined in Government Code section 54956.9, became final during the period of June 1, 2015 through June 30, 2015. Steven Dasovich v. Contra Costa County, et al., U.S.D.C. Case No. C 14-0258 MEJ (N.D.Cal.). On June 9, 2015, the Board approved settlement of this case involving a dog bite. Settlement in the amount of $37,500, inclusive of attorney fees and costs, was authorized in closed session by a 4-0 vote, Supervisor Glover absent. The settlement agreement was fully executed on June 23, 2015. The funding source is the Risk Management Liability Internal Service Fund. This report includes final settlements of litigation matters handled by the Office of the County Counsel.
