HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07072015 - C.165RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE the Employment and Human Services Department's Years of Service Awards Policy, and AUTHORIZE the expenditure of up to $350 per quarterly event for a maximum of $1,400 per year for awards and light refreshments at these quarterly events. FISCAL IMPACT: Costs will be covered 45% State, 45% Federal and 10% County. BACKGROUND: The Department of Employment and Human Services intends to implement a Years of Service Awards program to recognize employees who have achieved 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service. Awards ceremonies would be held on a quarterly basis and will follow the attached draft departmental policy. Light refreshments such as muffins or cookies along with a beverage would be provided. The program will have minimal costs which will be offset by the benefits of boosting morale and department loyalty. The Department is requesting the authority to expend up to $500.00 per event on the awards and the purchase of food and beverages for these events.
