Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-378-5 with Concord Yellow Cab, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $250,000, to provide non
emergency taxicab transportation services to patients to and from Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra
Costa Health Centers and other health facilities, for the period from August 1, 2014 through June 30, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
Taxicab services were originally provided, and paid for, under Purchase Order and has been utilized when a clinical
condition could be adversely affected by lack of transportation for needed medical care, including but not limited to,
physical disabilities which make it unsafe for patients to travel on public transportation, patients that have a verifiable
seizure disorder, or patients that receive mediation which has or could impair the mobility or coordination of the
patient.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Contract #26-3578-5, Contractor will provide direct and indirect taxicab non emergency transportation services to
patients to and from Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Center, including other health
facilities upon discharge from the Hospital. This Contract includes modification to County Standard General
Conditions, Paragraphs 16, (Confidentiality) and Paragraph 19, (Insurance), through June 30, 2016.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring transportation services will not receive transportation services to
and from CCRMC and other health facilities by this Contractor.
