HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07072015 - C.145RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #24-979-29 with Addiction Research and Treatment, Inc (dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $5,437,641, to provide methadone maintenance treatment services for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: This contract is funded 50% by Federal Drug Medi-Cal and 50% State Drug Medi-Cal. (Rate increase) BACKGROUND: On October 21, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-979-27 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #24-979-28) with Addiction Research and Treatment, Inc. (dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment), for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015, for the provision of methadone treatment services through its Methadone Maintenance Clinics Program (Medi-Cal Drug Abuse Treatment Services) in East and West County. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) under Federal Law. Approval of Contract #24-979-29 allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2016. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, adults in Contra Costa County will not receive the specialized substance abuse treatment services needed to provide them an opportunity to achieve sobriety and recover from the effects of alcohol and other drug use, become self-sufficient, and return to their families as productive individuals. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
