HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07072015 - C.139RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #22–806–24 with Public Health Foundation Enterprises, Inc., a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,100,675, to provide consulting and technical assistance on community health promotion for County’s Community Education and Information unit and Emergency Medical Services unit, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 50% by Center for Disease Control, 8% by Ryan White Act, 26% by Federally Qualified Health Center, and 16% by budgeted County funds. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Community Health projects, Health Emergency Unit and Health Services Emergency Medical Service Program. Services provided by this Contract also include leadership and public health advocacy training. On July 29, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #22–806–21 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #22-806-23) with Public Health Foundation Enterprises, Inc., for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015, for the provision of consulting and technical assistance on community health promotion. Approval of Contract #22–806–24 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2016. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County residents who depend on services from Public Health Emergency Unit and Health Services Emergency Medical Service Unit may not receive the services they need.
