HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07072015 - C.133RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with STAND! For Families Free of Violence, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $208,470 to provide shelter services for battered women and their children for the period July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: $208,470: 37.5% County General Fund; 62.5% Marriage License Fee BACKGROUND: This contract addresses the social needs of the County's population in that it provides a crisis call center number 24 hours per day/7 days a week, and provides at least 7000 emergency shelter bed days to a minimum of 100 women and children in crisis situations. Contractor is a domestic violence shelter-based agency providing services to domestic violence victims and their children in compliance with the requirements of California Welfare and Institutions Code section 18294. Expected program outcomes include a safe environment where victims of abuse can receive appropriate support and follow-up services.
