Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-817-36 with East Bay Nephrology Group, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $240,000, to provide
nephrology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from
July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2018.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As
appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services. (Rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On June 26, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-817-34 (as amended by Amendment Agreement
#26-817-35) with East Bay Nephrology Medical Group, Inc., to provide nephrology services, including consulting,
training and on-call and medical procedures to patients

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from July 1, 2012 through
June 30, 2015.
Approval of Contract #26-817-36 will allow the Contractor to continue providing nephrology services for Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers through June 30, 2018.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring nephrology services will not have access to Contractor’s services,
which may result in a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
