Cancellation Agreement #23-384-10 with Language Line Services, Inc., effective on the close of business on April 30, 2015; and 2. Contract #23-384-11 with Language Line Services, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $3,900,000, for the provision of translation and interpretation services for the County’s Health Services Department, for the period from May 1, 2015 through April 30, 2020. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is 100% funded by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-384-7 (as amended by #23-384-8 and #23-384-9) with Language Line Services, Inc., for the period from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2015, for the provision of over the phone interpreting services and translation services for the Health Services Department. In consideration of Contractor’s agreement to continue providing services, the Department and the Contractor have mutually agreed to renegotiate Contract terms to include on-site interpretation and translation of written materials. Therefore, in accordance with General Conditions Paragraph 5. (Termination and Cancellation) of the Contract, the Department and Contractor have agreed to a mutual cancellation of Contract #23-384-7 (as amended by #23-384-8 and #23-384-9). Approval of Cancellation Agreement #23-384-10 will accomplish this termination. Approval of Contract #23-384-11 will allow the Contractor to provide additional translation and interpretation services, including over the phone and on-site interpretation and translation of written documents at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through April 30, 2020. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring translation and interpretation services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers will not have access to Contractor’s services, which will result in a reduction in the overall level of services to the community.
