State Agreement CSPP 4045 Amend 2 / CCC Agreement 39-908-17 BACKGROUND: The Board approved receipt of funding from California Department of Education on July 8, 2014 accepting the 2014-15 funding allocation of the California State Preschool program services. The County receives funds from the California Department of Education to provide state preschool services to program eligible County residents. The program is operated by the Employment and Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau. The Department sought to transfer funds from the California State Preschool Program to the General Childcare and Development program in an effort to better meet community need for Infant/Toddler childcare services, as identified in the Department's Community Assessment. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If not approved, County will not receive funding to operate these childcare programs. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Employment and Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau supports three of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; 3) "Families that are Economically Self-sufficient"; and, 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing" by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
