HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07072015 - C.65RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence Initiative, to apply for and accept grant funding from the U. S. Department of Justice, Office of Victims of Crime and Bureau of Justice Assistance in an amount not to exceed $521,433 for enhancement of collaborative models to combat human trafficking for a period of three (3) years from the date of grant award. FISCAL IMPACT: County to receive an amount not to exceed $521,433. (100% Federal) BACKGROUND: This grant funding is to be used to enhance the quality and quantity of services available to assist victims of human trafficking by enhancing interagency collaboration and the coordinated community response to victims of human trafficking, and through the provision of high quality services that address the individual needs of victims. Funding will support comprehensive services for all victims of human trafficking. The support efforts will increase the capacity of communities to respond to human trafficking victims through the development of interagency partnerships, professional training, and public awareness activities.
