Subject:Add one (1) Forensic Supervisor (6CHB) position and cancel one (1) Deputy Sheriff Criminalist III (6DTB) position
#6718 in the Forensics Division
BACKGROUND:
The Forensic Division's long range strategic planning requires an additional Forensic Supervisor in order to
continue to maintain the requirements to meet accreditation in the Forensic Science disciplines. The Deputy
Sheriff Criminalist III has been promoted, leaving position number #6718 vacant. Canceling the vacant position
and adding the Forensic Supervisor enhances the department's ability to deliver the highest caliber of service to
the community.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, it would impair the functionality of the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff
Forensic Division, and negatively impact the public health and safety of the citizens of Contra Costa County.
