FISCAL IMPACT: This action increases revenue and appropriations by $555,000. BACKGROUND: The District recently received a larger than anticipated end of year distribution from the redevelopment property tax trust funds. This request would authorize recognizing that surplus amount in the current fiscal year (2014-15) and appropriating it towards the purchase of two (2) Type III wildland engines. Additionally, this request would authorize reallocating existing revenue from some building maintenance projects to the purchase of capital specialty rescue equipment (hurst tools) and non-capital firefighting equipment (high rise hose and equipment, wildland gear, ladders, swiftwater rescue gear, etc.).
