APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with
FamiliesFirst, Inc., dba EMQ FamiliesFirst in an amount not to exceed $509,494 to provide family preservation
support services for the period July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$509,494: 70% State Family Preservation; 30% County Funds
BACKGROUND:
Contractor was selected through competitive bid to provide intensive family preservation services. Family
preservation support services provide ongoing case management services that engage and establish a positive rapport
with families who have been referred from existing Child Welfare cases, are experiencing multiple stressors
impacting their ability to parent effectively, and are consequently at risk of having their children placed in out of
home care. Contractor's services have met all expectations and goals.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Valuable services will not be provided.
