HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06092015 - C.113RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-687-5 with Ralph Chase, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective June 1, 2015, to amend Contract #26-687-3 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-687-4), to increase the payment limit by $105,000, from $1,200,000 to a new payment limit of $1,305,000, with no change in the original term of October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase) BACKGROUND: On October 15, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-687-3 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-687-4) with Ralph Chase, M.D., for the provision of anesthesia services, including, but not limited to, consultation, training, medical procedures, and on call coverage for the General and Obstetrics Units at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2016. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-687-5 will allow the Contractor to provide additional anesthesiology services at CCRMC through September 30, 2016. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring additional anesthesiology services at CCRMC may not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
